FAQ

“I'm interested. How can I get started?”

It's really easy. Call us at (416) 440-2828, we’ll help you get set up for a drop-in class; or click on the image button for the program you're most interested in. When you enter your information, you’ll be taken to a page where you can check out our class schedule, and enroll online for our awesome internet offer (with free boxing gloves). A member of our team will call shortly afterwards to schedule a convenient time for your first class.

“Will there be other beginners in the classes?”

Yes! All our classes are beginner friendly. Each class has an assistant instructor to assist beginners. You’ll also have an instructor work hand-in-hand with you during your first couple of classes, until you get more comfortable with the workouts. Our well structured curriculum is designed to be progressively more challenging with time, and accommodates newer members joining the classes.

“Do I have to be in good shape to take classes?

Not at all! Truth is, many of our members have discovered Muay Thai and kickboxing as a fresh and fun way to get in good shape. It certainly beats going to the gym because of the excitement and camaraderie in our classes. People come to us out of shape, and get in amazing shape in just weeks. They are regular folks who workout 1 to 2 times a week and are seeing amazing results in their training goals.

“Am I too old for this type of activity?”

The answer is simply No. Martial arts is for everyone, and our classes are filled with adults of all ages, genders, and varying fitness levels. You will be encouraged to workout at your comfortable training pace, and work towards your training goals. If you have a current health concern, it is always best to first check with your physician before starting a new form of exercise.

“Is this a "cardio kickboxing" type of class?”

Not even close! This is a real kickboxing workout with real instructors teaching you real techniques for real fitness results. In the fitness kickboxing classes, you won’t be doing any fighting; but instead learn functional kickboxing moves as you hit punching bags boxing gloves. It is fun, safe, and empowering. Nothing releases stress better than hitting a punching bag. We guarantee that! We also have an optional level 2 Muay Thai class emphasizing sparring that advanced members may attend.

"Is Muay Thai and Kickboxing the same?"

We offer both programs, scheduled into separate classes. The fitness kickboxing classes incorporate standing punching bags as part of the workout. In these classes you will enjoy 60 minutes of a fun-filled, sweat pouring, bag slamming workout. The Muay Thai classes teach authentic Muay Thai skills with technical emphasis, while providing rock solid conditioning for “ring-ready” fitness. As a member you get to attend either or both type of classes at no extra cost.

“Can I still get in shape like some of those Thai fighters, even though I'm not interested in fighting?”

Of course. Martial arts is for everyone, and our classes are VERY safe and filled with adults of all ages, genders, and levels of fitness levels. What IS true is that pro-fighters are in phenomenal shape; however with our program, you don’t need to be an muay thai fighter in other to be fit like one.

"Will I get injured? I don’t like to get hurt."

We don't either; and although our classes exciting and always high energy... they are VERY safe. Because various forms of contact is part of martial arts training; mutual respect and an emphatic awareness for our members’ well-being is very important to us. The movements you are taught are easy to learn, easy to understand, and easy to apply.

“I want ‘real’ Self Defense. Do you have this?”

What many of us have grown to think of martial arts is quite far from the truth. Our goal is to teach practical self protection skills while balancing that with modern civility. However, we also believe in combat proficiency, so if a hostile situation does ever come about, the skills you learn in Muay Thai are effective in protecting you and your loved ones.

"How many classes a week should I attend?”

We recommend to make it to 2-3 classes per week to enjoy maximum fitness results. However, some of our members can only make it to one class a week, and still get incredible results with their workouts, so the amount of classes you take is based on your own personal schedule. We also have a variety of class start times to choose from.
